너무 게을러서 포스팅을 한지 벌써 1년이 다 되어간다. 작년 이 맘때쯤 코비드 때문에 병원이 참 시끌시끌했고, 아무 증상이 없었지만 건너편에 사는 증상 있는 플렛 메이트 덕분에 2주 격리를 하였고(병원 숙소라서 플렛들이 다 병원에서 일해서 문제가 많았다), 그 와중에 응급실로 옮기고 싶어서 계속 컨택하고 있었는데 개인적인 사정으로 옮기지 못했다.
It has been nearly a year since I had written a post as I was too lazy. The hospitals included the place where I work were quite noisy due to COVID last year. Although I didn’t have any symptom of COVID, I needed to be isolated for 2 weeks because I was living with my flatmates who actually had symptoms and it was pretty problematic as where I live is accommodation for NHS employees. As a results there were far lack of staffs to work and nurses ended up looking after 8-10 patients alone. Meanwhile, I was contacting A&E to transfer as a permanent staff, but unfortunately I couldn’t due to a personal health issue.
그러고 격리 후 병동에서 계속 일하다가 여름에 좀 괜찮아 졌다 싶었지 그러고 두번째 웨이브라며 겨울에 중환자실이 코비드 환자로 폭발해서 도우미 격으로 중환자실에서 일했다. 중환자실 경험은 아예 없었는데 막상 괜찮았다. 그래서 지금 아예 중환자실로 옮긴지 두 달째가 되어가는 중, 한달정도의 한국으로 치면 프리셉터 교육?을 거치고 혼자 일한지 대충 3주째.
After isolation, I kept working on the ward with full of COVID patients and it was better during summer time. Then with starting winter, ICU was explored with COVID patients which was called a second surge. Even though I didn’t have any experience working in ICU, I worked there as a kinda helper called Category B nurse. ( ICU nurses are category A, ward nurses/medical students and some doctors with sort of training are B and HCA/ Physiotherapists and other occupations are C) Personally, the experience working in ICU was interesting. so it led me to transfer ICU and I just finished my supernumerary. It has been more less 3 weeks to work alone although I haven’t started ICC/ICU course yet.
너무 모르는 것이 많아서 차근차근 공부해야한다… 할 것이 많다. 작년 2월부터 시작한 엔클렉스 서류 1년이 지난 2021년 4월, 이번달에 드디어 ATT를 받았다. 서류 준비를 영국에서 혼자해서 시간이 꽤 걸렸다. 온라인으로 2019년부터 바뀐지 모르고 굳이 우편을 보냈더라…….. 다시 한번 느끼지만 제일 중요한건 해당 웹사이트만 꼼꼼히 읽어보면 될 것을, 괜시리 한국어로 검색해보고 알아보고 철 지난 너무 옛날 포스트를 보고 따라해서 문제였다. 그래도 좀 돌아갔어도 받았다. 영원히 못 받을 줄 알고 공부를 안해놔서 얼른 공부해야함.. 중환자실 공부도 해야하고 얼마 전에 발견한 사이트에서 온라인 강의도 듣고 싶다. (좀 관계없은 blood culture 검사 원리 막 이런거다…) 그런데 몸은 침대 붙박…ㅎ
I would say being a ward nurse is quite different from working in ICU. It was just shocking that there are so many many things that I don’t know. I need time to study, actual study.
Also, I eventually got ATT (Authorisation to test for NCLEX) all after preparing documents from February last year. It was such a long journey for me who did everything alone. I sent actual posts to the office in NEW YORK since I didn’t know that I could have done it online. Please whoever wants to do documentation read the details on the official websites rather than others’ posts. I followed very old posts which was a huge mistake.
There are a lot of things that I need to have a look, not only NCLEX also in terms of ICU and some online course about blood culture etc..
작년에는 혼자였지만 조지오가 일을 구하여 브렉시트 직전에 넘어왔다! 원하던 급여, 좋은 직장을 정말 수 많은 인터뷰를 거쳐 왔다. 장거리 끝내고 감사하게도 딱 때에 맞춰 플렛도 나와서 좋은 동네, 햄스테드에서 비교적 저렴한 가격으로 잘 지내는 중이다. 이제 게으름 그만 피우고 열심히 공부하고 포스팅도 해야지.
I moved to London end of August 2019 alone, but I am not alone anymore as my soulmate came to London as well after so many interviews and obstacles, just right before Brexit. I am very proud of him. Therefore, we finished long-distance relationship and luckily we got a nice flat on time in Hampstead with reasonable rent price.
I will try to upload a post at least one every week.
